Totally saw this happen, and totally happened to me a few weeks ago from the same guy (if he's asian and you're white) ! Not sure if a man whore.... or nice guy just looking to make others smile and have a great day. I'm going to assume the latter. Way to go confidence boosting nice guy ! Carry on with your good deeds.
