hmm I'm Canadian, but both sets of grandparents come from Holland. It's a shame I can't actually speak Dutch. But dubbel zout droppies, hagelslag sandwiches, olie-bollen, windmills, klumpen, and tulips are all part of my upbringing.(I am only 6foot). If you speak Dutch OP I would love to learn a little. perhaps over some coffee and stroop wafels.
I'm half Dutch and don't speak it, but I was raised on specula, rusks, vruchten hagel, and all of the other delicious Dutch food (I've never been a dropjes fan.
Non-dutch person here. How can you stand the taste of droppies? I was given one by a dutch friend when I was 7 or 8 years old and spat the thing right back out. Stroopwafels, Olliebollen, and Boterkoek are great though.
It is a taste that you have to grow up with in order to enjoy it. It really is an aquired taste. Double Zoot dropjes are great, but there are so many other delicious dutch candies! Candy stores in Holland are immense!
): Does this campus even have anyone dutch? I'm dutch and I can never find anyone to talk dutch with.
ReplyDeleteHoi! Kom je echt uit Nederland of alleen je ouders?

WOODEN SHOES, WOODEN HEAD, WOULDN'T LISTEN, WOULDN'T PAY!
Similar situation. Half my grandparents are from Holland though. We had stoop and used it on our borecole. My sister even wore klompen to her wedding.
