MISSED CONNECTION: To the guy who never gave me a chance to be more than a summer fling,
Thank
you, because of you I've learned to value myself more. I was devastated
when you didn't want to continue what we had over that summer. I
spiralled downhill, and turned into the same person that hurt me by
hurting others. Thankfully, I unexpectedly got swept off my feet by
someone. I'm happy in my relationship now. I still think about you and
the time we shared, but more of in a way of looking back to how stupid
and naive i was. I'm graduating so I won't be seeing you around campus.
Good luck with school and everything.
OP, your value as a person is not defined by your relationships. Single or not single, you are enough.
ReplyDeleteMaybe look at it the other way around? Sure he dumped you, but summer flings are sometimes meant to be just summer flings!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can brag about it to your friends, & think about all his bad habits & personality that made him unsuitable for dating ;)
hahaha OP how does it feel settling for second best?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say the guy i'm dating now is second best, who's to say the guy before was the best?
DeleteThe subtext of your MC did. He might have been a dick to you, but the fact you care enough to make this post in the MC section rather than the OMG section says a lot.
DeleteIf you've truly moved on, you'd be completely indifferent.
Instead, you admit to a high traffic UW site (one that he likely frequents) that you still occasionally reminiscence about your shared summer affair. Of course, you have to justify these thoughts as part of your naive and stupid past, for both your sanity and to prevent massive backlash replies.
Look, if you want to bid him a final farewell, it really should be done in person or via text if you feel uncomfortable. When written as a MC preceded by an exposition of his oppressive influence on your life and how much "stronger" you have since become, it's insincere.
But what do I know?
we did bid final farewells. but it seems to me that you know me better than myself...
Deletenot #3 here, but OP, we rarely know ourselves as well as we think we do lol
Deletewhy don't you take this as a chance to learn something rather than get all defensive? nobody's throwing any "backlash" at you - you're the one getting all riled up just because you can't take some outside perspective
You're to say by making this MC. When you see the previous guy all wifed up, you'll be jealous regardless of how good you have it with #2
ReplyDeleteOP here, thanks for the amount of "blacklash". just thought i'd finally let this all go since i'm graduating and wanted to put this all to the past. i really fell in love with him deeply, and when it all ended i spiralled downhill and struggled with an eating disorder. Maybe, i've chosen the wrong wording for what I intended to write or perhaps others are reading it a little too deeply.
ReplyDeleteIf you were over it, you wouldn't have written this post.
ReplyDeleteyeah not over it. lmfaoo
ReplyDeletePoor 2nd guy. I hope he reads this and realizes what he has gotten him self into so he can go and find someone who thinks he is number 1 and not 2.
